Live Your Life Without The Expectations Of Others
Episode 31 ft. Kamil McFadden | Actor/Producer/Poet
Guess who’s back?
Back again.
Pony’s back.
Tell a f̶r̶i̶e̶n̶d̶ pal.
Hello again Pals🙋🏿♂️,
First off, thank you soooo much for all the bday wishes/messages which interestingly enough was the same day as the release of this episode on Sep. 8th. And even more interesting was that my guest for this episode’s bday is only two days after mine🤯.
For my 26th revolution around the 🌞, I decided to take some time off and take me gyalfwend up north to finally meet the rents!🥰
Also, since my dad’s revolution day is exactly 7 days after mine, we decided to fly back up the following weekend to surprise him for his 60th bday!
He was so shocked when he saw me, he thought I never left the first time… even though he dropped me off at the airport😭.

Pol’s Takeaways
Because my interviews are focused on my guests telling their story, I try to give them as much Talking Time as possible.
“Pol’s Takeaways” is a space for me to share my thoughts on the interview.
Live Your Life Without The Expectations Of Others
I don’t know about you guys, but do you ever feel that things happen in your life (“good” or “bad”) that feel like they were meant to happen? You can’t really confirm or explain it, but there’s just this gut feeling that the stars had lined up just right to show you something.
This is how I felt with the release of this episode on my 26th birthday. The title, a.k.a Kamil’s Words of Advice, resonated strongly with me especially as I’ve had the time off to deeply reflect on myself, where I am, and where I want to be.
Reflecting on memorable events from your life to better understand who you really are can be a jarring, but also telling experience. Although it might be a contradiction from the next section below, I think understanding who you are based on past events is a necessary evaluation that we should all take the time to do, and what better time than after a revolution around the 🌞?
Sidenote: Did you know that the reason we have a leap year every 4 years is because a full revolution is actualy 365 days, 6 hours and 9 minutes. 6 hours and 9 minutes over 4 years equals another day (~24 hrs) ?
Because I defintely did…
A Daily Reminder To Be Present
Without expectation, one can truly live.
Knowing after every cycle of opening and closing your eyes,
The opportunity given must be seized with every effort possible.

During this episode, we discussed how Kamil used his time off during the pandemic to pursue other creative interests that don’t involve memorizing a script. One of his other interests is poetry. But to put his acting/producing background to use, Kamil decided to start bringing his written words to life visually.
As of today, he’s published 3 of these Visual Poems, and the one titled “Life” stood out to me the most. It’s a great reminder to live in the present and maximize it while you can. Something that’s easier said than done…
Coming Soon…
On the next episode of Pol and Pals, my pal and I will have a #creativeconversation about growing up on a dairy farm, running a company with someone that’s drastically different from you, and the importance of finding a mentor.
I love hearing from all the Pals whether it’s critique or compliments, so let me know what you think of the podcast and/or newsletter by replying to this email or leaving a review.
